Empowering Women Every Day
Empowering Women Every Day
OUR MISSION – To assist female returning citizens transitioning from prison to society by re-establishing their connections to the community, children, family and systems of support. To help build and maintain self-esteem, self-respect and self-sufficiency. We aim to impact the families of women and the communities in which they live.
OUR VISION – We aim to create an environment that respects and accepts the intersectionality of gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, class, ability, age, culture, nationality, immigration status and all social systems. We respect the diversity and individuality of the people we serve, and we are committed to providing fair and equal support to all.
OUR VALUES – We offer a trauma supportive environment and work through mental and physical wellness and feeling of being unheard and forgotten. We encourage women to take ownership of managing their health, wellness and self care to be successful in achieving self sufficiency. We strive to form close relationships, build a true sisterhood with and among individuals involved with the organization. We provide a gender responsive approach to reentry for female identifying individuals.
We prepare women for the workforce through training and education with emphasis on technology, customer service and hospitality. We recognize and respond to the needs of the various stages of life that returning citizens represent. We provide solutions that make a long-lasting difference in the lives of the individuals and families we connect with.
We advocate for gender, racial, social and economic justice. We engage communities to fight against systematic biases and change processes that continue to disenfranchise the impoverished and disadvantaged.
